Symphony Orchestra of India Alexander Lazarev, conductor Nurit Stark, violin Wagner: Prelude to Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg Bloch: Violin Concerto Tchaikovsky: Suite No. 3 Alexander Lazarev is one of Russia's foremost conductors. From 1987 to 1995 Lazarev was Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Bolshoi Theatre, the first person for over thirty years to hold both positions concurrently. First prize winner of the Soviet Union's national competition for conductors and at the Karajan Competition in Berlin, Lazarev has worked with orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Bavarian Radio Symphony, Royal Concertgebouw, Orchestra Filarmonica
